When I was in college, I was blessed with the opportunity to speak in chapel. It was amazing. I loved it. Not for the fame or being on stage and having everyone listen to me--that was the worst part--I loved it because I love blessing people with the depth of the Word, especially young people.
I actually snuck out the back and stayed away from people the rest of the day. I didn't want people telling me how cool or good I was. Half of them would have been lying and the other half would have made me think too highly of myself.
God created each of us to be different tools in His toolbox. Nothing makes a tool feel more fulfilled than to be used for the purpose to which it was created--our Spiritual Gifts, if you will. My Spiritual Gifts are such that I love to hide away in dusty theology libraries and research a subject days on end for years, and then emerge to write some books and speak on the wisdom I uncovered from the ancients.
It's what God created me for and it is how I most feel...well, fulfilled. :o)
